I have really noticed a change in my mood since I have started online PE. I am a lot happier than I usually am! Especially after I exercise. This is because exercising releases a hormone that makes you happy. This should give everybody a good reason to exercise on a daily basis! Exercising every day has definitely become easier to do because I know that it will make me feel better.

Learning so much about my body and the health of my body has really helped me to start exercising more. Exercising helps firm your body and gives you more muscle. It really helps with your self-image. I know that it has for me. Even after I finish online PE I am going to continue exercising on a daily basis.

This week in online PE I am learning about proper fitness equipment. This inspired me to go get the proper equipment to help me with exercising. I learned that it is important to wear things that are not stylish, but have a good quality and work well for you. I am glad that I am learning about all of this because it will help me in the future when I want to exercise properly without injuring myself.

Accessible Credit Recovery Courses for High School Students
May 10th, 2011It Is Report Card Season and Advantages Online Private School
Offers Accessible Credit Recovery Courses for High School Students
Las Vegas—Later this month report cards will be delivered to thousands of high school students, solidifying their first semester grades. For many, low or non-passing grades will negatively affect their high school transcripts jeopardizing their ability to meet graduation requirements.
Offering more than 300 courses, Advantages Online Private School offers credit recovery courses for high school students to accessibly repair transcripts tarnished with low grades or failed courses. Credits are transferable to traditional high schools and colleges, including the Clark County School District in Nevada.
“For soon to be graduating students, especially those whom are college bound, the setback of even one low or failing grade can be detrimental,” said Pam Dion director of Advantages Online Private School. “Due to budgetary cutbacks, school districts are unable to offer a broad range of classes in their conventional summer school programs. At Advantages, our full course list is available for students who have had difficulty in math, science, language arts or even Spanish. Enrollment is simple and course work can begin almost immediately.”
Advantages wide range of offerings allows students to elect to take additional courses to enhance their transcripts. In addition to standard curriculum courses, Advantages offers several world language classes (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Latin and German, among others), high tech courses such as Web design, digital video, green technology and online game design, as well as 21 advanced placement courses.
“By offering all of our courses online – with no text books – we are able to provide students with ease in accessibility as they can log on to complete their studies from any computer, whether at home or at a relative’s house during the holidays,” said Dion.

Why Do You Teach Online?
June 23rd, 2010By Amanda Crane
Inevitability I get asked this often, mostly by teachers who instruct in “live” classrooms. Some of them are former colleagues, some are complete strangers. I have a few stock answers that I rotate depending on my audience.
I believe there are a variety of ways to learn.
I think this is one of the most important responses. In the traditional classroom there are different learning styles to adapt to, IEPS to consider, and technology to implement. As teachers we are constantly changing how we teach to benefit our students. Online learning is just another one of those ways.
I have no “shy” students.
There is always that shy student who sits in the back and perhaps feels intimidated and dominated by stronger members of the class. There is none of this in the online environment. I really feel I can get to know each student individually through his or her writing, posts, and e-mails. Students seem to feel much more confident with their classmates because the online world is anonymous and protected.
I have lag time to respond and collect my thoughts.
We all know that teachers have to be quick on their feet. A student may very well ask a question we don’t know the answer to offhand. In addition, a student may fire off an inappropriate comment that would need to be dealt with immediately. If either one of those scenarios happens, I have the benefit of responding within 24 hours (or less if I choose.) Sometimes it helps to take a step back and reflect on the right way to approach a student.
I can go to class and meetings in my pjs.
This is a silly reason, but a great one. It is wonderful to not have to put on “teacher clothes” and makeup every morning. It is also great to be able to attend meetings and trainings in my pajamas at night. I still conduct myself as a professional, and no one knows the difference!
I enjoy being home.
This is a simple but powerful reason. I chose to teach from home so I could be with my children. I can go to the park all morning and grade in the afternoon or evening when my kids are asleep. I save completely on daycare and get to work out of the most comfortable place I can imagine – my home.
I hope these reasons inspire other online teachers to defend their position that online instruction is just as powerful and significant as traditional instruction!
